Benchmark Agnostic Products in the Global Equity Landscape
Over the better part of the last decade, fundings towards agnostic products jumped from slightly more than 5% to from 25-40% of new business in each calendar year period. Perhaps a bit surprising, these products represent 34% of U.S. tax exempt global equity assets as of December 2009.

To further examine the appeal of these products, InterSec broke down its proprietary Global Equity universe into three sub groups: benchmark aware, loosely aware, and agnostic. In this memo, benchmark agnostic products are highlighted, over the last three years, comparing both performance and attribution to provide greater insight into current and future appetite for strategies that diverge from benchmark constraints.
